8th Annual Independence Day (4th of July) Ride
Celebrate Independence Day with a bike ride! If you tell people about this ride, please make sure they get all of the info below.
About 42 Miles at 17-20+MPH Average. We'll start at Bicycles, Inc. in Hurst and head to Las Colinas and back.
Please see the link below for a course map and cue sheets. There are several convenience stores along the way, and we'll probably stop a few times for some regroupings.
However, you should be self-sufficient and able to navigate for yourself should you get dropped. Please hydrate properly before, during and after the ride.
I think it's a pretty safe route, and the traffic should be light because of the holiday. Please be careful of the crosswinds and concrete expansion joints by the airport.
If you don't feel up to the full 40+ miles, you might consider starting with us, and then breaking off to do the usual Wednesday night route with others who don't want to go farther. Please be ready to ride at 8:00AM. This is NOT an official shop ride, just an informal gathering of cycling friends. There are no "sweepers", but I think most people will find others of their skill level to ride with, and I don't think anyone will be left alone.
If you didn't specifically receive an invitation from me, please consider this your invitation. I tried to invite all of my friends on Facebook who I thought might be interested, but I probably missed some of you.
