Leeds & Liverpool Canal Cycle Challenge - Chantelle Regan's 130.1 mi bike ride
Oh man... I am broken, a lot! So, so proud of what me and the guys achieved, all for my friend Martin. None of us could be prepared for what we were faced with, no matter how many hours / miles training we’d done... First and foremost - I can’t thank Paul Speight, Ian Whitehouse, Richard Bacon, Richard Jones and Jonathan Limebear enough for today - each and every one of them played such a vital role to get us over the finish line. I can’t even put into words how amazing you all were individually. The best team work I’ve ever witnessed in such gruelling times. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done, mentally and physically. The conditions were the worst I’ve been in, sooooooo muddy and slippy for the majority (hence my arms not working now!), 4 hours cycling in the dark next to the canal with all mud (not very fun or safe!)... but we were determined and didn’t give up. So many stories to tell, once I’ve got over the pain. I’m very aware of all the overwhelming messages I’ve been sent, blown away by the support. Had me in tears (again!). Not had chance to reply yet, but I will definitely be reflecting and responding after a decent sleep. Thank you to everyone who has supported this cause, me and the guys collectively. So grateful. Big love.
